Skills

My wide range of interests have necessitated the development of various skills, which I use every day.  My background in the humanities has improved the speed and quality of my writing, and years of high-level mathematics have reinforced effective problem-solving.  Through my customer-facing roles and the process of self-publishing a tabletop game, my customer service expertise continues to grow.

Productivity Suites

I have more than a decade of experience with productivity suites, particularly with spreadsheets, word processors, and presentation programs.  I am familiar with the core Microsoft 365/Office programs, including Outlook management and Excel function utility.  I have further familiarity with the core Google Workspace software, including Google Forms, Sheets with function utility, and Sites (like this one!).

Customer Service

My most recent jobs have been almost exclusively in customer-facing and customer service-oriented roles.  At Publix, my store and department managers received frequent praise for my customer care, and I was applauded and recognized for my dedication to company values.

Graphic Design

I started toying around with raster graphics editors in middle school, eventually using my skills to design t-shirts for various high school club fundraisers.  My college email provided access to the Adobe Creative Cloud, and I found better utility for board game design in vector graphics editors like Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape, its open-source competitor.

Video Editing

Early curiosity in video production catalyzed the development of my self-taught video editing skills, starting from the now-defunct Windows Movie Maker and eventually working my way to DaVinci Resolve, a competitor to Adobe Premiere.  Video production also serves as an outlet for my graphic design skills, mostly for the icons and information bubbles interspersed throughout videos.

Interests

Apart from jobs and work-related passions, I have many hobbies as well!

Board Games

As a board game developer, I have to test a lot of board games!  I most frequently play my own games, but I also enjoy popular strategy, puzzle games, and social deduction games.  Especially during the height of the pandemic, the video game Tabletop Simulator allowed me to stay connected with friends and served as an inexpensive testing grounds for my own games.  Check out my game website, atomicagame.com!

Wikipedia

A while ago, I noticed that the daily Top Read articles on the Wikipedia app frequently listed the article for Cleopatra in the top 10.  For all of 2022 and 2023 (so far), I've tracked the article's position in the daily Top Read articles to see if its presence was a fluke.  As it turns out, the page is popular year-round!  You can see the data, as well as read my theory on the article's popularity, on my website cleostats.com.

3D Printing

My first introduction to 3D modeling came in a high school drafting class, where my technical drawing and AutoCAD proficiencies led to a Vocational Science Award.  Hours spent in the Swarthmore College MakerSpace piqued my interest in 3D printing, which I used for prototype board game pieces.  I sought more complicated shapes for my prototypes, which led to my use of Tinkercad.  Today, I've made a hobby of 3D printing and modeling, which I use for gift-giving and fixing small items around the house.

Sports

I follow all the big local sports teams, especially the Miami Marlins as of late.  Baseball's history and use of statistics are really engaging to me, so much that I've taken to following other bat-and-ball sports like cricket and the "backyard baseball" tournaments shown on the Warehouse Games YouTube channel.  I also play a variety of recreational sports including badminton, Ultimate Frisbee, Blitzball, tennis, and the very early stages of golf.
